“There is, perhaps, no college decision that is more thought-provoking, gut wrenching and rest-of-your-life oriented—or disoriented—than the choice of a major” -(St. John, 2000, p. 22)
On completion of this project I have come to realize that most of us enter college as fresh minds. Some of us know what we want from the beginning, some of us know where we would like to be when we graduate but most of us enter college with the hunger to learn and the will to experiment and want to decide along the way, what we find best for us. I came to college undecided or In Slowinski’s words I am an “exploring student”. Reading through studies and interviewing various people made me realize it’s not about how fast I decide on my major rather it’s finding the one that I’ll enjoy the most.

Its inevitable to feel anxious and stressed about the unknown and especially making a choice like this that practically decides ones future. However, the answer is not to give in by making such an important decision in haste or under societal and parental pressure. Therefore, I feel the next four years will be very essential to my future prospects. I will have to be open to the idea of learning and in that way I can eventually pave my path to big things that await after graduation.
